Good News! Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam Excempt Visa to Japan
The Japanese government plans to exempt visa for tourists from Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam to Japan. The policy will be decided in June 2014 and the fastest will be in place 3 months later.
According to the official Kyodo
news agency reported on Monday (April 4, 2014), the policy is one of Japan's
initiative to become a tourism-oriented country. The initiative aimed to
attract more tourists from South East Asia. Japan also targets tourists from
the Muslim population. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also looked at tourism as a
pillar of its strategy to spur the economic development of the cherry blossoms country.
With greater and easier opportunities
to enter the Japan, the annual number of tourists are expected to reach 200
million by 2020 to the Tokyo Olympics from a total of 10 million tourists per
year at this time. Last year, after freeing the visa from Malaysia and
Thailand, the number of tourists to Japan from both countries increased 61% to
630,000 people.
Among the countries that still
require a visa to enter Japan, Indonesia is counted a large contributor to the travelers, which is
about 140,000 people a year. While the Philippines and Vietnam, respectively
110,000 and 80,000 people.
Wow! It is really good news, is not? May we have a blessing time to visit Japan and watching THSK concert live in Japan someday. :)
